Pakistan And Iraq Sign Agreement To Boost Mutual Tourism

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost mutual tourism.

According to Foreign Office spokesman Asim Iftikhar, that memorandum of understanding was signed in the field of tourism in Baghdad on January 19, 2022.

The MoU was signed by the Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Iraq.

Every year thousands of Pakistanis pilgrims visit Holy Shrines in cities of Karbala, Najaf and Qumm.

The MoU will boost cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism.

Asim Iftikhar said that people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Iraq would be strengthened.

Pakistan is also working with the Iraqi side to facilitate Pakistani visitors to Iraq.

And Pakistan is committed to deepening and expanding its fraternal ties with the Republic of Iraq.
